Total value creation from IT support function: IT Support function includes all activities by IT which results in:

1. support of any IT System which is currently been utilized by the business users
2. Support of IT System currently utilized by the Customers of the business
3. Any IT activity or new development which is utilized to stabilize the fluctuations in business.

Estimation need to include the value creation from any such activities.

Total Value created by enabling IT Products and services in an organization. This metric helps in removing the misconception of IT as a cost function

% of funds planned or used for enabling growth in an organization [read in RnD function, developing new features, enabling more features or automating a new work-flow...] with IT to the total IT budget.

calculated on the actual s [IT Expenditure] to the total planned budget. Ideally should be equal to 1 or closer to it, with 5 to 10% variance.

Total budget planned to actual spent, at the end of the quarter. Should be equal to 1 in ideal condition.

Percentage of “lights on” operating costs (including break/fix, depreciation) versus total IT spend

Percentage of IT budget to total revenue. Should be compared with other departmental budgets.
